The Children in Erinwo Village daily face several challenges in the place they call school because the presence of a government is not felt by the people in this community. The challenges range from attending classes in an environment not fit for learning, to lack of access to quality academic resources required for learning, to lack of access to portable water, to lack of play equipment…the list is endless.
Many of these children are from very poor nomadic farming families so their parents cannot afford sending them out to other good schools. This project emphasizes a need for government of Nigeria to actively play their role so that the children of Erinwo get proper education. Erinwo village is located in Surulere LGA, Ogbomoso, Oyo State, Nigeria.
The project was undertaken by Deji Oyebamiji a storyteller from Ogbomoso, Nigeria. He creates images with empathy and self-expression. Deji documents various issues. Taking up new challenges in telling stories is one strength he possesses. This artist documents people in their environment within and outside Nigeria.
